At a glance

Master Data Management ("MDM") refers to a company-wide organizational programme or regulatory framework for generating and maintaining mostly shared data content, such as material, customer and supplier master data as well as all data used for determining or summarizing business management and accounting information in the form of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) or Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).

 

MDM objects and processes

Our MDM services therefore focus primarily on the identification of MDM relevant data, the organization of the processes involved in their generation and maintenance and the provision of efficient systems for mapping the jointly defined MDM processes.

This often requires the parallel development of several MDM processes as some data can only be collected centrally whilst other data can only be collected by several specialists from different departments or locations cooperating with each other. Quantity structures, change frequencies, know-how requirements and requisite availability times are just a few of the criteria taken into account by our MDM method box for the systematic determination of MDM processes.

 

Harmonization and cleansing programmes

Another step towards the permanent establishment of an MDM programme is the harmonization and cleansing of accumulated data structures. The services this requires are frequently congruent with the services needed for data migration.
